Is there a parking fee at Skálholt? The short answer is no, but guests can donate to Skálholt by scanning a QR code on signs by the parking lots in front of the church. Skálholt is a national heritage site of Iceland and one of the country’s most important historical and religious places. Church closed due to recordings
Temporary Closure of Skálholt Cathedral – November 28th and 29th Skálholt Cathedral will be closed to visitors from 3:00 PM on Friday, November 28, and throughout Saturday, November 29. The temporary closure is due to a professional recording session by the vocal ensemble Cantores Islandiae, who will be recording the Þorlákstíðir music in the cathedral.
