Visitor center

The guest room in the visitor center is used for congregation activities.

The guest room is located in the oldest building in Skálholt, which used to be the residence of the consecration bishop in Skálholt.

The building has facilities for the choir, children's activities and the organist's office. Confirmation education takes place there and church coffee is offered after mass.

In the near future, it is planned to open a library and print history center in the basement of the visitor center, and the first phase will be opened in July 2024.

In the future, a tourist reception, an exhibition, a souvenir shop, toilets and a cafe will be in the building.
